If you need motivation and tips on exercising and eating right, you should check out the Jillian Michaels website. She’s one of the trainers from that show The Biggest Loser (if you didn’t already know that). You can get email tips sent to you every day which are very motivating and make a lot of sense. I have some of her workout videos and they really kick your butt, but they’re also great if you’re just beginning to work out. You can get support from other people on the website forum as well. Her site is the only place I found that helped me stay motivated and get on my way to losing the 35 lbs that I want to lose. I pay $4 a week (paid quarterly) for my membership to the site. I think you can get her daily email tips sent to you for free though.
Joseph asks…
Do exercise video’s really work?
Has anyone really lost weight and toned up using an exercise video? If so can you recommend any. I know so many people who have them but no-one I know has ever got a better body using them. I guess it takes motivation to do it properly. I look after my 8 month old, I don’t have time or the money to go to the gym so I thought I could exercise at home while she sleeps. Any success stories?
Ramesh Klinkert answers:
I’ve completed P90X twice, and I’ve gotten great results. I do have to warn you that it is an extreme program, but it can be modified for anyone looking for results.
In fact, Beachbody has a ton of workout videos, and I am sure you can find one that suits your specific needs. You can find them on the web, just Google the company: Beachbody.

I’m a 14 year old who wants to get more muscular.?
I’m a 14 year old boy and i want a little more muscles. I don’t have any equipment at all.
Any tips? to get me more motivated?
Ramesh Klinkert answers:
Easy. This is all the motivation you will need. If you begin following this quick and easy plan then you will gain muscle, energy, confidence, girls, and then the world is yours if you choose to keep going ha. In a way i am serious because once you get this confidence and you begin to see that you can accomplish what you somtimes feel is the impossible then nothing can stop you if you choose for it not to. Hard work and dedication will take you anywhere you want to go.
So fora young man trying to gain muscle without gym equipment you are kind of limited to just basic workouts. But these basic workouts have proven very effective for thousands of years.
*Push ups- Do 3 sets of 20(or as high as you can make it to if you can not get to 20)
This will build your upperbody and your abs. Look it up on the internet by way of a video to see how to correctly do a push up.
*Dips – Use a chair sit on the end with your hands grabbing the end of the chair and slid off, go down and push back up for one rep. (Look that up as well if you do not know how) This will build your triceps mainly, the back of your arm.
*Squats
*Lunges
*Abs- Do crucnhes, sit ups, etc. Find a ab routine online. To get abs you do not have to kill yourself with crunches. They already exist they are just under fat or not built up enough. You use your abs with everything you do so they will be fatigue. Keep the ab routine light with the occasional intense routine.
*Cardio- Go for jogs, play basketball, a sport, long walks, sprints, climb stairs, whatever you do do it hard and each time try to do it a little bit harder. This will build up your endurance and also build muscle in your legs and torso. Do this 1-3 times a week at 1st then go to 2-4 times. Do not over do it once again, train according to how your body feels that day.
Do all of this according to how your body feels. So you will prob want to do these workouts 1 or 2 times a week to start then go to 3-4 at the most. Each time you do an exercise or a workout you want to push yourself to do the absolute hardest, or most reps you can do without over doing it. It is kind of a thin line to walk but you will know.
The most important thing about getting a more fit body is your approach to nutrition and sleep. Drink plenty of water throughout the day and during your workout. Most important, PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN. Protein is the key to your muscles building up and getting bigger and stronger. Protein along with a good healthy diet can catapult you to the next level. So eat healthy and get the proper rest. Leep is vital for your body to grow. Your body rebuilds its muscles mostly during the night when you sleep.
This will only take you so far as far as getting results fast and building muscle. Your body adapts to the weight you lift and builds muscle to lift that weight. That is why you keep challenging yourself and lift heavier weight because then agin your body will rebuild its mucles to be able to lift that weight, and over and over again.Push ups limit you to your own body weight. So eventually you will do 50 push ups like nothing because your muscles are used to that weight. And doing more reps like 100 push ups will not make your muscles bigger only build endurance. So try to reinvent new ways to add weight to your push ups if you can not go to a gym other wise i advise you to get to a gym if you want to have big gains.
Lastly, always change up your routine for new growth.
Good Luck and don’t stop
Sandy asks…
How can I lose weight?
Okay, I’m 5’9 medium framed and weighs 200 pounds, my weight is distributed in a pear shape.
So how excatly can I lose weight? And how much should I weight? I can’t really change my diet patterns as the only food I eat is jamaican (west indies) cooking, which is known for it’s spices and oil. I walk for 40 mins back and to school everyday…
So how can I lose weight? Any workout videos you guys recommend?
Thanks.
Ramesh Klinkert answers:
People now a days want it easy. But losing weight isn’t an easy task. Forget miracle pills and get thin in a month programs. If your motivation is strong enough, you’ll weight exactly what you want to.
Personally I reccomend Crossfit. You won’t only lose weight, you’ll adquire an excellent condition. It’s the training the actors used for filming the movie 300.
Also, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is very good excersize and heavy people train in there as well so you won’t feel weird if you’re the shy type.
Good luck! You can do it!!

A lot of motivation. Work out at least 4 times a week to start, and have a moderate diet. Doesn’t mean giving it all up! Everything in moderation. If u don’t want to go to a gym, see ur local library and checkout workout videos(walking one are the best) it worked for me i’ve lost 82 pounds so far!
John asks…
Exercise routine and motivation?
I’m really good about exercising once I’ve got a “routine” (especially when I have a lot of time on my hands). Problem is that whenever my routine gets disrupted I have a very hard time getting back into it. Plus, since exercise isn’t my favorite thing it’s the first to go when my schedule gets really busy.
For instance, I had been running regularly for the past several months. The school semester just started and now I’m really busy and I’ve slipped out of the routine. I want to start up again but I am worried I’ll have lost the progress I had made…and I’m feeling discouraged.
Ramesh Klinkert answers:
The problem with “routines” are that they get boring after a long period of time. When you get bored, you just don’t feel like exercising. Plus after a long period of time when doing the same routines over and over again, your muscles get used to this routine and you stop getting results and changes in your body which leads to more lack of motivation. So the solution is that you need to mix it up a bit. Don’t stay on one routine for more than one week. For example lets say, for this week, you run for 20-30 mins every other day, then next week try something new. Try plyometric exercises which are jump training. (there are a lot of videos you can find online for these type of exercises.) Or maybe you can try some type of boxing workout. This type of workout isn’t just good for your body, but also is good to relieve stress because you just let it all out especially if you have a lot of exams and homeworks, etc. Then the next week try something new again, like weight lifting. Then the next week try yoga. You know what I mean? The trick to sticking to exercise is you have to make it fun. Do something you like doing and don’t stick to one routine for too long. Always open new doors even if you haven’t really tried a certain type of exercise, who knows you might end up liking it
hope that helps!
