Ramesh Klinkert answers:
Better is take 1-2 days rest to get best results
Best is stay active, dance, use only stairs (no lift), walk to nearest shop, get good sleep and stay happy
Eat Yogurt, raw paneer, drink hot milk bedtime, drink lots of water, eat fruits and salads, drink green tea morning first thingand eat little salad before lunch and Dinner.

Ramesh Klinkert answers:
Hi , i am not sure how much weight is it that you are looking at loosing but even if walk an hour a day you only burn 200 cal at that rate it will take you almost 70 days to loose one kg of fat, it true. . I was about a 115 kgs till about two months back, now i weigh 93 kgs. I personal was not very comfortable going to a gym because of my weight, and tired a whole lot of stupid stuff to get back into shape, with every time i failed i felt more discouraged. One day i found this company called X-attack through google. Their concept looked really interesting , it was a extreme 90 days based in home training program, with ton of workout to do at home, and a hot shot nutritionist dedicated to make program for you, they even had a free fitness consultation number their so i called them. They really seemed to know a lot about the anatomy of a body , and nutrition and all that stuff. I have been of this program for a a little over 2 months, My body is finally talking a shape, i still have a long way to go but the way does look promising. I did all this by workout out and eating right . No crazy pills , crash diet , or stupid creams, my hard work. The workout includes ton of workouts styles including Yoga attack or as people like to call POWER YOGA all of them can be done at home without any equipments . But you kinda do have to be motivated and to follow this program as its not a cake walk, but if you do live through it then the results are worth the pain. The program actually is not only making me loose weight but is also helping me get into a great shape for the first time in my life. They are a Canadian based company that recently started in India. I hope this ends your quest to loose weight effectively . Here is their web link if you want to get more info

I am only 19 and I have too much fat on my thighs. tried much exercise but did not worked.please suggest something.
Ramesh Klinkert answers:
Hi, walking about 6km a day is gonna take almost close to an hour and will not burn any more 200 calories, I kilo of fat has over 7000 calories, hence at that rate it will take you almost 2 and a half month to just loose one kgs of fat. But i you devote the same amount of time to the program i have been a part of for the past two months you will be a much happier person. I think my personal experience might help you in your quest to loose your weight. I was about a 115 kgs till about two months back, now i weigh 93 kgs. Sharon asks…
Is yoga as benificial as a cardio workout?
I’ve taken up yoga, and although i don’t jump about, when i’m holding poses, my heart rate increases, and i get tired and hot.
I know it’s probably not as benificial as a cardio workout, but how close is it?
Would i be able to do yoga everyday and keep fit and toned?[my yoga session is about 1hr-1hr30mins long]
Ramesh Klinkert answers:
No, yoga’s way better, especially if you do it daily or more often.
Yoga is most beneficial when it is performed twice daily; upon waking and before going to bed. The ‘morning practice’ is a bit more energetic, and prepares the body for cleansing, eating, and the coming day’s activities. ‘Evening practice’ is slower, more gentle and relaxing enough to promote good sleep. Each session can be varied (according to mood and circumstances) in length, averaging at about 15-20 minutes.
Your body is designed to be constantly active, at a low level of intensity (about 90-120 bpm) This pattern is suitable for survival ‘in the wild’, where you CAN’T AFFORD to work so hard that it tires you out. (If a predator turns up then, you’re in deep trouble.)
Modern lifestyles inflict a lot of chairs on us. We sit at work, we sit (in front of the TV) for leisure, and we even sit down while we commute from one to the other. Public transport is so crowded that most of the passengers can’t sit, but standing still is nearly as bad.
The benefit of regular exercise is based on the idea that three bouts of frantic activity a week, if it’s vigorous enough, can make up for all this sitting around. That’s just bolox. You only need specialised ‘cardio’ training, IF your heart is expected to battle against a constantly deteriorating circulatory system. This constant (and unnecessary) battle requires unnaturally brutal training.
Strengthening your heart is not as beneficial as increasing your range of movement, co-ordinating different bodyparts, ‘shunting’ bloodflow in an organised pattern, improving the function of joints, and moderating appetite. Traditional yoga does all of these things, as well as improving the connection between your mental & emotional life and the activities you do.
Unfortunately, ‘western’ versions of yoga discard some of these benefits, by using the exercises in a ‘sessional’ way.
Western fitness experts often think that the heart is a pump, and training the heart will improve the effectiveness of the circulation, as if the blood vessels are being ‘massaged’ by the blood pumped into them. This is not true.
(If the heart is pumping blood DOWN into the legs, how can it be effectively moved back UP (against gravity!) by ‘passive’ means? The random contractions of muscles in the legs, pressing on the veins nearby, propel blood back to the heart, just as effectively as it is propelled down into them. And without all the drama and bumping noises. There is even a western cardio-anatomical principle (Starling’s ‘Law of the Heart’) which demonstrates mathematically that the heart CANNOT be operating as a pump.)
In reality, blood is pumped BY the arteries. The contraction of ‘smooth’ muscle in the arterial wall is co-ordinated by the regular pressure signal (the pulse) produced by the heart.
The ability of the arteries to adapt to local circumstances, depends on practice. If your arm is immobile, the arteries in it will ‘forget’ how to function. Using each joint fully and frequently will train the local pumping mechanisms (arterial and venous), and allow the well-maintained arteries to respond easily to the heart’s signal.
The more of your body you habitually use, the easier it will be for your heart to TRAIN ITSELF.
Yoga approaches health from the opposite perspective. Moving and maintaining the tissues of the body (and each bodypart) will REQUIRE the support of the systems that repair and nurture those tissues. These systems (blood, lymph, fuels and amino acids, neurotransmitters and hormones) will in turn stimulate the organs that produce and process them. So the heart is INVITED to improve its function, by the constantly changing requirements of an agile artery. The artery maintains its agility by constantly altering its ‘shunt’ setting (how much blood is needed locally). The bloodflow is constantly altering because the joint is in motion, and the bones, connective tissues, immune system and nerves, are all learning to operate more effectively together.
By the way, your heart rate is probably rising in the pose (it is supposed to fall, as you relax into the position) because you ar holding your breath (or constricting your ribcage), or because muscular tension is interfering in a similar way with your bloodflow.
This is is a common occurrence in ‘western’ yoga classes, which teach the poses as competitive achievements (you feel superior if you can ‘get into’ a pose that’s difficult). This cultivates a mindset of ‘battling with your own body’.
Practising daily in your own home (or other personally meaningful surroundings), will transform your mental approach, and allow you to perform the poses in a way that accepts and ‘negotiates around’ your limitations, rather than trying to ‘overcome’ them.
