Thomas asks…

How do I get into fitness modeling? what do I need to change?

I am interested in doing some fitness modeling, and I am wondering how to go about getting my foot in the door. Also what do i need to change about my physique to be more appealing to agencies?

Ramesh Klinkert answers:

Send a few shots and body measurements to agencies with contact info. When you pics, you can send a SASE with a brief question like “What about my body would you change?” etc

Lizzie asks…

What should i do to become a male model?

I am 18 years old and 5’9″-5’10″ish. I am in great shape. what could i do to become a fitness model or any other kind of fashion model?

Ramesh Klinkert answers:

1. Keep it up! Even tho right now ‘you’re in great shape’ dont relax. Keep excersising!
2. Move to nyc. Or somewhere big like that, maybe LA? Those places need models the most
3. Create a portfolio. Get headshots and full body shots, in sportswear (casual) and business (formal). Keep clothing size, height and weight at the back.
BTW: you’ll want to put a very striking photo first, and very fierce + strong pics at the back. Weaker shots go in the middle
4. Get an agent. A great time to do this is wen an agency holds a ‘open call’ where they’ll let you go in and they’ll tell you if u have potential. Again, the bigger cities have more agencies which = more open calls whch = more opportunities!!!!! Altho talent scouts also go to small towns
5. You’re done! Hopefully you’ll get a good agent. Also, keep on trying! You’ll be rejected a million times, (believe me, i know), but think of it as a good thing; this agency just wasn’t good enough to see your potential!

Richard asks…

What is the best bodyfat percentage for a perfect 6-pack?

id like to know what the best bodyfat % for an amazing 6-pack is, kinda like what some fitness models have.

I just dont want it to look like i have 6 tumors coming out of my stomach, i know its somewhere between 4-8%? I dont want it to always be visible like if im leaning down, but READILY visible, like tiny bumps when im walking/standing/flexing.

Ramesh Klinkert answers:

DEPENDS ON YOUR BODY STRUCTURE AND GENETICS. IF YOUR BETWEEN 6 TO 8% YOU SHOULD SEE VISIBLE DEFINITION.

Donna asks…

How can i build more self confidence and be a people person?

I am not much of a people person unless i am in the weight room, after my workout, between my workout or before my workout. All of my friends are bodybuilders, powerlifters, fitness models.I dont think i am bad looking,i am build, strong, bit short(5-8),22 yrs old.

Ramesh Klinkert answers:

You start out by asking about self confidence, and how to be a people person. But then you go on to say you’re not much of a people person and describing yourself as an athletic person who’s obviously got some self esteem issues because you describe your physique.

In which case you might start by not thinking so much about yourself and how you look. That doesn’t mean to let yourself go, but you seem to have more interest in how you “look” to other people, than you do about what people really think about you.

People who like YOU won’t care if you’re 2 feet tall and wear 4 foot platform shoes. If you want to be a people person, then you will recognise that. From there, focusing outside of yourself, and instead to building relationships with people, you may find your answer.

Your issue sounds like a combination of your wanting to be attractive, but at the same time, wanting people to like you. These are two separate things, and you’re trying to combine them. Most people will not like you simply because you’re attractive…and most people who do like you won’t build you up simply because you are.
